About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team in Narellan. Reporting to the Shared Services Finance Manager, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for preparing and processing payroll, maintaining employee files, and providing payroll administration across multiple NEPEAN businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Process multiple weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
- Interpret relevant awards and employment agreements to correctly process payroll.
- Respond to payroll queries and provide timely resolutions.
- Maintain accurate pay records, timekeeping data, leave records, and related information.
- Assist in the processing of workers' compensation claims.
- Reconcile payroll, PAYG, and superannuation payments, and authorized payroll deductions on a monthly basis.
- Calculate termination and redundancy pays.
- Onboard and offboard employees.
- Process headcount, leave reports, and other employee reporting.
- Perform general administration and ad-hoc reporting tasks.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a minimum of 5 years of prior experience in payroll, with a solid track record.
- Have experience in multi-site and weekly/monthly payroll cycles.
- Be able to interpret relevant awards and national employment standards.
- Have experience with ERP systems.
- Be proficient in MS Office.
- Be an organized team player with great attention to detail.
- Have excellent customer service skills.
- Be able to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Have strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
