Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Leader to join our team in Newington, NSW. As a Project Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing construction and refurbishment projects across NSW, with values ranging from $1 – $20 million.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
  • Effectively manage project costs and ensure efficient running of the project.
  • Coordinate direct labour and subcontractors to meet project deadlines.
  • Provide regular project progress reports and conduct weekly meetings to ensure stakeholders are informed.
  • Offer advice on technical and engineering issues related to project execution.
  • Liaise closely with clients to ensure projects run smoothly and on schedule.
  • Be involved in tendering and estimation processes to secure new projects.
  • Develop and modify Integrated Technical Protocols (ITPs) and Site Work Method Statements (SWMS).
  • Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) and track responses to ensure timely resolution.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role, managing construction and fit-out projects.
  • Familiarity with construction and refurbishment project methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills and understanding of leadership responsibilities.
  • A high level of understanding and appreciation for safety protocols.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to manage project finances effectively.
  • Programming and planning skills to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Contract awareness and cost tracking experience.
  • Ability to positively influence, develop, and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Self-management skills while working well in a team environment.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and creative thinking.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage deadlines.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Construction White Card.
  • Police Clearance due to projects being based on Defence sites.
  • Drivers Licence.
  • Tertiary qualification in Construction or Engineering.
