As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will have the ability to enable and improve developer experience through automation, self-service platforms, and adoption of Platform Engineering principles.

Key areas of responsibility include analysis and understanding of infrastructure and services, as well as embedding and automating API security and testing practices in CI/CD pipelines.

A key requirement of this role is a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and secure design principles, along with analytical, logical, and lateral thinking skills.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of proven experience in DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, and/or combined with Software Development experience.

Expertise in IaC tools, AWS services, service instrumentation using OpenTelemetry or similar frameworks, and proficiency in at least one web development language are also essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analysis and understanding of infrastructure and services
  • Advocacy of Platform Engineering culture, principles, and ways of working
  • Build and improvement of templated artifacts, such as CDK constructs, CI/CD pipeline templates
  • Maintenance and improvement of CI/CD pipelines to support software deployment and maintenance across multiple environments
  • Embedding and automating API security and other testing practices in CI/CD pipelines
  • Uplift AppSec capabilities with a focus on .NET secure code reviews and promotion of secure coding best practices
  • Implementation and support of DevSecOps metrics to track and enhance performance
  • Contribution to observability efforts through code instrumentation and OpenTelemetry
  • Investigation of security incidents and implementation of remediation measures
  • Build and maintenance of platform tools and templates to enable developer self-service
  • Identification and addressing of product engineering pain points to improve developer productivity and experience
  • Acting as a DevSecOps SME, advising the Platform Engineering and broader technology teams
  • Promotion of good documentation, code review, and system security practices
  • Participation in agile ceremonies to enhance team workflows
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, trends, and compliance requirements
