Data Ethics Manager

Lead the development and implementation of robust data ethics frameworks, ensuring that AI initiatives are secure, transparent, and aligned with community expectations. Foster a culture of integrity and performance, building genuine partnerships across government, industry, and community.

About the Role:

As a senior leader, you will oversee the integration of privacy-by-design principles into AI systems, ensuring the responsible handling of personal and sensitive data in alignment with community expectations. Develop policies, standards, and processes to drive continuous improvement in data strategy and frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead high standards of ethical conduct in AI system usage, overseeing the integration of privacy-by-design principles and responsible data handling.
  • Oversight and management of privacy management initiatives across the organization, driving continuous improvement in privacy strategy and frameworks.
  • Strategic leadership in data security, ensuring robust controls safeguard digital assets, working closely with Legal and IT teams to improve compliance with data security standards.

Skill Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years' experience working in Data Governance and privacy compliance, including building data management frameworks, reporting to regulators, advising on impact assessments, managing data breach responses, and handling requests and complaints.

Demonstrated leadership abilities, including building shared direction, clarifying priorities, and proactively addressing strategic issues impacting the operating environment.

Ability to systematically analyze evidence/data for decision-making, providing authoritative advice on complex governance matters.
