About the Position

We are seeking a qualified and experienced educator to join our team as an online teacher. This role involves delivering lessons to students from Years 7-10 in a virtual environment.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach in at least two of the following subject areas: English, Mathematics, Humanities, Science, Health and Physical Education, Language - Mandarin, Digital and Design Technologies, Creative and Visual Arts, Biblical Studies, and Wellbeing and Pastoral Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and implement teaching programs or courses of study;
  2. Be competent in the use of ICT learning platforms, particularly Canvas;
  3. Demonstrate a commitment to improving professional practice through coaching and professional development;
  4. Provide a child-safe environment in accordance with child-safe standards;
  5. Participate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school and follow child safety and wellbeing policies and procedures;
  6. Identify and raise concerns about child safety issues in accordance with child safety responding and reporting obligations policy and procedures;
  7. Maintain records of class attendance and record student progress;
  8. Implement effective student management consistent with the school's strategic plan;
  9. Attend and participate in staff meetings as required;
  10. Be actively involved in regular staff devotions and prayer.

Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification;
  • Clearance status of the Working with Children Check (where applicable);
  • Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT);
  • Statements of service from previous child-connected roles;
  • References from previous child-connected roles;
  • A committed Christian comfortable with sharing their faith;
  • High expectations for what students are capable of both academically and behaviourally;
  • Excellent organisational skills.

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. You should be able to receive feedback on your teaching and implement changes, effectively plan for, collect and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
