About the Role

The Cathedral School of St Anne & St James is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Senior School Head of House. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong commitment to the well-being and academic success of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Well-being and Support
    • Ensure the overall well-being of students within the House, fostering a supportive and caring environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to students, parents, and staff to address any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • House Program Development and Delivery
    • Develop and deliver a comprehensive House program that engages students across both the Middle and Senior Schools.
    • Lead the implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and the ReLATE program.
  • Leadership and Management
    • Provide leadership and guidance to Tutor Teachers, ensuring they can effectively maintain discipline, support student progress, and strengthen House spirit.
    • Oversee the efficient administration of the House, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and effective communication between staff, students, and families.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding student matters.
    • Collaborate with other Heads of House, the Careers Advisor, Chaplain, Director of Studies, and Health Centre to ensure a coordinated House program.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or a degree qualification supported by a post-graduate diploma or degree in teaching or education.
    • Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
    • Current First Aid and CPR certificates are required and must be kept up to date.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Expertise in teaching the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabus/es.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a pastoral team.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, organisational, planning, and time-management skills.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the development and pastoral needs of individual students.
