Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Water Treatment Process Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a team environment and possess strong analytical skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and optimising treatment processes to deliver safe and clean drinking water to our communities.

This is a 2-year max term contract opportunity with the possibility of extension based on performance and operational needs.

You will be part of a dynamic team that oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering trust with our customers and community by providing expert advice and service.
  • The safe & efficient operation of regional water treatment plants to ensure compliance with drinking water quality guidelines.
  • Routine plant maintenance & inspections (repair/service/calibration of plant equipment).
  • Input into the development and improvement of operational procedures & methods.
  • Assisting with the ongoing optimisation of water treatment processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong computer skills and software knowledge including Microsoft office.
  • Trade Qualifications (mechanical/electrical). (Desirable)
  • Water Treatment Plant Operators Certificate III (Water industry operator/Water Treatment) or demonstrated operational knowledge of water treatment processes and/or basic laboratory skills. (Desirable)
  • Ability to work under limited direction.
  • Experience in the use of SCADA systems. (Desirable)
  • Hold a valid driver's license. (Essential)
