Overview of the Role:
- The Department of Justice and Community Safety seeks a General Manager to oversee three functional teams within the branch, responsible for assessment, applications, and panel secretariat services.
- The role requires strategic management and leadership across these teams, ensuring effective delivery of services and compliance with legislative frameworks.
About the Branch:
Corrections Victoria operates the adult corrections system in Victoria, managing public prisons, transition centers, and privately operated facilities. The Offender Services Division focuses on reducing reoffending through quality assurance systems, offending behavior programs, and transition/reintegration supports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic management and leadership to the Assessment, Applications, and Panel Secretariat teams.
- Oversee the assessment of eligible offenders to determine suitability for post-sentence orders.
About You:
- You will have knowledge of the Serious Offenders Act 2018.
- Demonstrated experience in providing leadership within complex service delivery areas within legislative frameworks is essential.
- Experience working with high-risk or sexual offenders, or in correctional environments, would be beneficial.
