About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Catholic Healthcare. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining and overseeing the financial records, transactions, and taxation compliance of the organisation.

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for performing month-end and year-end closing activities, managing the general ledger, and monitoring and reviewing financial data. You will also ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
  • Managing the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions
  • Monitoring and reviewing financial data, identifying/resolving any discrepancies
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting principles (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements
  • Preparing and analysing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, Commerce (or equivalent), and CPA/CA/CIMA qualification or in the process of completing. You will also have experience with Microsoft AX and 2+ years demonstrated experience in financial accounting, corporate finance, or similar.

You will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, technically strong accounting principles knowledge, and financial regulations and reporting standards. Experience in Aged Care/Healthcare/NDIS is preferred.
