Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Macquarie Park. This is a dynamic role that offers a unique opportunity to work with a global IT corporation and contribute to the financial success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a detailed timeline and checklist to ensure all steps for the year-end close are completed on time, Post final journal entries for any necessary adjustments (e.g., accruals, depreciation, amortization).
  • Communicate with key departments (e.g., operations, sales, procurement, etc.) to ensure that all transactions are recorded, and outstanding items are addressed. Close the books for the year in the accounting system once all necessary adjustments and reconciliations are made.
  • Create and maintain balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
  • Ensure that financial reports are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded properly.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of costs and revenues across accounts.
  • Reconcile the bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts to ensure the records match.
  • Investigating and resolving any discrepancies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • You are a degree-qualified Accountant, with a CA/CPA qualification.
  • Demonstrated 3+ years in a financial accounting role.
  • You will have some experience and exposure to tax compliance and year-end financial reporting.
  • You will have solid MS Excel skills and ERP systems experience.
  • You will possess the technical skills of an accountant, however, also have strong communication skills to work across internally and outside the finance function.

About the Role:

The Senior Financial Accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager within the Oceania team. You will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and helping the company stay compliant with regulations.

This role will provide you with comprehensive exposure to all aspects of financial accounting including month-end, audit review processes, process improvement, implementation of accounting standards and review of company controls as well as involvement in projects with corporate managers.
