Job Title:

Light Vehicle Mechanic

About the Role:

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for providing prompt and effective maintenance support to our underground gold mines. You will evaluate vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components, review vehicle computer and electronic systems, and carry out regular maintenance activities to improve vehicle performance and lifespan.

Your role will involve liaising with Contractors and Stakeholders as required, ensuring adequate adherence to maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to mine operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to accurately diagnose problems
  2. Review vehicle computer and electronic systems for repairs, maintenance, and upgrades
  3. Carry out regular maintenance activities to improve vehicle performance and lifespan
  4. Liaise with Contractors and Stakeholders as required
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Valid and relevant trade qualifications, certificates, and licenses
  • Experience within a mining or heavy industry environment
  • Quality workmanship with excellent trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude
  • Reasonable computer skills & literacy, particularly across the MS Office suite
