The role of Emerging Technology Lead is a pivotal position that requires strategic vision and technical expertise to drive the adoption of innovative digital technologies across the organization.

About the Job:

  • You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating emerging technologies that can transform operations, improving safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and explore how new digital technologies can help achieve strategic goals.
  • Analyse new technologies to assess their readiness for implementation, how they can be integrated into technology landscapes, and how they enable digital strategies and asset plans.
  • Work across businesses to co-ordinate research and evaluation of new digital technologies, as well as engagement with partners and vendors.
  • Contribute to a team culture that values safety, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of current and emerging digital technologies, including their potential applications and limitations.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of implementing new digital technologies across various businesses, considering factors such as cost, scalability, and integration.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including technology vendors, partners, and internal teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the organization, encouraging the testing and adoption of new digital technologies.

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging digital technologies, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Practical understanding of the industry or similar sectors, with experience in process improvement and change management.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and work effectively across different stakeholder groups.
