Electrical Systems Engineer - Substation Design

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team of Power Delivery professionals. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation of scopes, schedules, and budgets for substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of scopes, schedules, and budgets for substation projects
  • Develop foundational expertise in high voltage substation design, including physical and protection & controls design
  • Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
  • Coordinate design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, etc.)
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in substation design
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and electrical design software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing aspects associated with substation design, including one line diagrams, general arrangements, sections, grounding, conduit plans, foundation plans, material lists, relay and control systems, control schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired
