Electrical Inspection Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team in a full-time, permanent role.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a licenced professional to be at the forefront of ensuring compliance across our network. You will be required to participate in an on-call roster and provide technical guidance to internal staff and electricity professionals.


The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise and hands-on experience, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement. They will also possess a solid understanding of regulatory requirements and proven skills in inspection, customer service, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work autonomously or closely within a team environment.


In this role, you will be responsible for attending to customer phone calls and enquiries, assisting with compliance issues related to rules, regulations, standards, and policies. You will also consult with REC regarding switchboard and SLD drawings, metering and supply arrangements, and conduct site meetings with customers and project managers.


You will assist the Network Connections team with all metering and connection or customer project queries, support the Dispatch and Control Room with Faults and Emergencies, and provide technical guidance to internal staff and electricity professionals. Additionally, you will attend, investigate, and issue customer defect notices, investigate customer complaints regarding defects in relation to metering and servicing appointments, and work with customer relations to investigate, finalise, and close defects issued to customers.


Facilitating and completing customer connections to the network and timely completion of works activity records and other work-related documentation using digital work platforms are also key responsibilities of this role.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Sound judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex issues in a creative and effective manner to meet customer and client objectives.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads in a fluid environment.
  • A Grade Electrical Licence.
  • G Class Electrical Inspectors Licence (V Class endorsement highly desirable).
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • ESI Worker Card.
