Job Description

The Grains & Oilseeds controller is a crucial role within the financial operations team, supporting the chief financial officer in overseeing financial activities across the G&O platform in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports for the G&O platform, ensuring transparency and reliability of financial data.
  • Accounting Management: Manage accounting inputs across revenue, cost allocation, inventory reconciliation, and asset lifecycle, maintaining adherence to Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support annual budgeting and monthly forecasting in collaboration with finance teams, promoting strategic financial planning.
  • Asset Management: Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset Register, leading capex reporting and compliance efforts.
  • Stocktake and System Integrity: Oversee stocktake processes, ensuring integrity of finance systems (ERP/CSM), and provide system support related to finance system integrations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the G&O controlling team, promoting compliance with accounting standards and fostering a culture of excellence.

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses strong management accounting experience, a solid understanding of operational finance in commodities environments, and intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with key end-to-end business processes and associated internal controls is also desirable.
