Role Description

We are seeking an Early Childhood Educator to provide a high-quality education and care program for children aged 3-5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate an educational program that supports the holistic approach to the care and development of children.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, families, and professionals to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Engage in reflective learning teams exploring and implementing the Reggio Emilia approach to learning and nature pedagogy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (including Anaphylaxis and Asthma training).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working in early childhood services.
  • Working knowledge of regulations, standards, frameworks, and codes.
  • Desirable: Inclusion Support experience.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Training undertaken in responding to abuse and neglect (RRHAN-EC).

Selection Criteria:

  • Ability to design an emergent play-based curriculum from a biblical perspective with a focus on social and emotional development, language development, thinking and problem-solving skills, and foundational literacy and numeracy.
  • Understanding of assessment and pedagogical documentation.
  • Creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Developing healthy relationships of mutual respect with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Embracing ethical reflective teaching practice, nature pedagogy, and Reggio principles.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQFv2), regulations, and standards.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Contribution to a Professional Learning Team.
