Commercial Finance Analyst

This is a Commercial Finance Analyst role at Myob, one of Australia's leading companies. The company continues to experience rapid growth.

About the Role:

  • You will provide in-depth financial and commercial analysis to inform key business decisions across various departments.
  • You will play a vital role in delivering commercial support to the wider commercial team, focusing on operating and capital spending within the Technology function.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with members of the Technology Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to provide ongoing financial guidance and insights that drive achievement of business goals.
  • Support annual financial planning and quarterly forecasting processes to ensure high-quality business planning around costs and capital expenditure.
  • Manage financial systems to ensure all relevant stakeholders have access to accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial information from key Finance platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Technology team to develop initiatives and apply your technical knowledge to make informed financial decisions.
  • Analyze monthly financial performance and identify any variances to budget, working with senior leaders to address areas of concern.
  • Serve as the primary financial contact for designated SLT members, effectively communicating financial information and insights to drive strong business outcomes by translating management data into actionable plans.
  • Provide ad-hoc support for projects such as M&A, financial modeling, and investment/capital allocation decisions.

About You:

  • The ideal candidate possesses business partnering experience in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills.
  • You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities to manage Technology costs.
  • Detailed knowledge of financial management systems is essential to accurately load financial budgets, submit updated forecasts, and finalize month-end results.
  • You must be able to analyze financial results versus budget and highlight underlying business drivers of key variances.
  • Experience working with a Technology function and knowledge of key technology concepts impacting the industry are highly desirable.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively consult and challenge leaders.
  • You should take a proactive approach in executing initiatives that support the strategic direction of MYOB.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI preferred) would be advantageous.
  • Professional accounting or finance accreditation (CA; CPA) is preferred but not mandatory.

Estimated salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, dependent on location and experience.
