This is an exciting opportunity to join the NSW Health Department as a Mental Health Crisis Intervention Specialist. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in providing emergency mental health consultations, assessments, and support services to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises in rural areas.
You will work closely with consultants and clinicians to develop plans to assist and support emergency department clinicians in managing mental health consumers' risk, medications, and ongoing care. Additionally, you will complete duties as a PACER Clinician, conducting emergency assessments in community settings with police and ambulance services.
As a highly skilled clinician with extensive specialist knowledge in mental health, you will operate autonomously with minimal direct clinical supervision. You will apply professional knowledge and judgment when performing novel, complex, or critical tasks and demonstrate the ability to act as a professional role model, delivering high-level patient advocacy and cost-benefit practice.
