Workshop Manager Role

This leadership position is ideal for a skilled trades professional who can oversee fabrication activities, ensure projects meet quality and safety standards, and inspire a team to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise workshop operations to achieve production targets
  • Develop and implement effective production schedules and resource allocation strategies
  • Maintain a strong focus on workplace safety and drive a proactive safety culture
  • Manage labor utilization and optimize delivery to control costs
  • Collaborate with estimators, drafters, project managers, and procurement teams to align on project priorities
  • Implement quality management processes to ensure all work meets required standards
  • Support the recruitment, training, and development of workshop staff
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high housekeeping standards

Requirements:

  • Trade or engineering qualification with extensive workshop and fabrication experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Proven leadership in workshop or fabrication environments with a strong focus on safety and quality
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage production schedules
  • Skilled in engaging and motivating teams to foster a positive and accountable culture
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Forklift license and crane awareness highly desirable
