About the Role

Ventia's Defence Base Services (DBS) contract are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with estimating and budgeting, coordinating works with sub-contractors in the civil / building construction industry. The incumbent to this position must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of Negative Vetting 1.

As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.

Whilst this role is based locally, regular travel to other WA defence facilities will be required, within your area of responsibility.

Main Duties

  • Completing scoping, pricing and preparation of project proposals including technical or complex Alternative Proposals
  • Define project objectives, scoping estimating effort which includes estimating tasks, and coordinating the sourcing and evaluation of pricing data from subcontractors, suppliers and internal resources
  • Working closely with stakeholders to develop project brief, cost, timelines, and host site meetings to determine an accurate estimation of costs
  • Project management of all approved projects, including subcontractor coordination and management
  • Develop sourcing strategy to ensure competitive pricing and quality
  • Ensure the integrity of all relevant estate data for each project for efficient access by the project Support Services Defence team
  • Facilitate project close out, including hand over and archiving of project documentation
  • Manage registration, tracking and currency of the project register for all Project Proposals and ensure technical compliance and quality
  • Comply with our Risk Management, Quality and Health, Safety and Environment management systems

Skills and Experience:

  • Broad knowledge of cost planning and project management controls principles and practices
  • Construction and reactive maintenance background is highly regarded
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
  • Competent in the use of MS Office suite, knowledge of MMS SAP system is advantageous
  • OHS Card (White/Blue Card)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment

Other Special Conditions:

  • This position requires a National Police clearance check and a valid Australian driver's licence.
  • This role comes with the added security of being offered as a permanent position with consideration of flexible working requirements.
