Compliance Specialist for APAC Region

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team in the APAC region, responsible for managing day-to-day compliance operations and driving strategic compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in managing compliance operations across the APAC region, ensuring adherence to regional and local laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Dexcom APAC Commercial Team to drive complex compliance projects and lead cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of compliance and ethics.
  • Consult with Dexcom's Legal team, outside counsel, and consultants to develop solutions for regional compliance challenges, ensuring effective risk management and mitigation.
  • Manage outside counsel and related budget matters, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Assist with periodic risk analysis, monitoring, and mitigation efforts, identifying and addressing potential compliance risks.
  • Manage Dexcom's Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (ABAC) and Modern Slavery Due Diligence Program in the region, ensuring compliance with international standards.
  • Stay updated on regional and local laws and regulations, offering guidance to business units on compliance and risk management, promoting a culture of compliance and ethics.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Dexcom Code of Conduct and policies, ensuring effective communication and awareness among employees.
  • Conduct compliance trainings and promote awareness programs on ethics, integrity, and risk areas across the region, fostering a culture of compliance and ethics.
  • Manage the compliance hotline for APAC, oversee case reviews and tracking, and contribute to investigations as needed, ensuring effective resolution of compliance issues.
Requirements:
  • Strong sense of ethics and integrity, with deep knowledge of business ethics compliance, particularly in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least five years of experience in a legal or compliance role, with expertise in healthcare, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, and modern slavery laws.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex compliance topics clearly and compellingly.
  • Solution-oriented team player who builds strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and can balance commercial goals with compliance risks.
  • Empathy and experience in building, managing, and leading teams, promoting a culture of compliance and ethics.
  • Sense of humor and a proactive, collaborative approach to work, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with 13+ years of industry experience, with a strong background in compliance and risk management.
  • 5-8 years of people management experience, demonstrating strong leadership skills and empathy in building and managing teams, promoting a culture of compliance and ethics.
  • MBA or Master's degree a plus, along with a healthcare compliance certification or a willingness to obtain one within six months, ensuring expertise in compliance and risk management.
