About this role

We are seeking an experienced Liability Underwriter to join our General Liability team. As a Liability underwriter, you will work closely with senior management to grow and develop a diversified liability portfolio.

  • Build relationships with brokers to identify opportunities for growth
  • Develop and communicate risk assessments to stakeholders
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on liability underwriting best practices
  • Manage day-to-day underwriting activities, including quoting and binding risks
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, identifying opportunities for business growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting procedures and regulatory requirements

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of client industries, businesses, and risks. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.

A minimum of three years' experience in liability underwriting is required, along with a solid understanding of underwriting principles and practices. You will also need to be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team to achieve business objectives.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, finance, risk management)
  • Minimum three years' experience in liability underwriting
  • Strong understanding of client industries, businesses, and risks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
