Teaching Opportunity in Italian Language and Culture

A dedicated and experienced teacher of Italian language and culture is sought to join a vibrant educational community in Melbourne, commencing immediately. This full-time position involves teaching Italian plus one other method to students in Years 7-10 within a growing school community that values collaboration and active learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop engaging and age-appropriate curriculum plans in Italian language and culture, aligning with the Victorian Curriculum for Secondary students.
  • Deliver dynamic and interactive Italian language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and language structures.
  • Integrate Italian culture into lessons through activities, literature, history, and projects that build cultural understanding and appreciation.
  • Design and implement assessments to monitor student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across faculties to embed Italian language and cultural perspectives into broader learning programs and school initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning, staying up to date with best practice in language education and innovative teaching methodologies.
Requirements:
  • Current VIT registration.
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • Previous experience teaching Italian language and culture within a secondary school setting in AU/NZ.
  • Previous experience teaching within the Catholic System advantageous.
  • Graduates welcome to apply.
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years.
