Position Overview
We are currently seeking a passionate Youth Worker (Classroom) for a Permanent Full-Time role. This position is designed to empower young individuals and assist them in realizing their capabilities, irrespective of their backgrounds or circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of the school's pastoral care and community development initiatives to ensure student wellbeing and attendance goals are achieved.
- Design and facilitate wellbeing programs tailored for students.
- Assist in the execution of vocational training initiatives available to students.
- Support the delivery of various programs, services, and events aimed at youth engagement.
- Establish meaningful relationships with young individuals to identify and nurture their strengths, interests, and needs.
- Provide support and case management for identified students in accordance with school policies.
Are You the Right Fit?
- Possess a Certificate III or higher in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related field.
- Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one.
- Exhibit strong communication skills with young people and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrate the ability to implement effective behavior management strategies that foster a supportive environment.
- Commit to working with youth using a Strengths Approach and maintain a non-judgmental, empathetic demeanor.
- Showcase excellent verbal and written communication skills.
