Drill Fitter Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Drill Fitter to join our field maintenance team. As a Drill Fitter, you will be responsible for servicing our fleet of field equipment on a rotating roster cycle, working 12 hour shifts.

  • This role requires a minimum Certificate III trade qualification in diesel fitters or heavy duty plant mechanics with at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Knowledge of land based drill rigs (KWL - SCHRAMM - UDR) and support equipment trucks (Merc Benz - Tatra - Isuzu)
  • Understanding of compressed air systems (Sulliar) and boosted air systems (Air Research/Hurricane)
  • Experience with light vehicle fleets and associated ancillary drilling equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and carry out quality repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and high pressure air systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with staff members and clients in a professional manner
  • Familiarity with health and safety guidelines of FORACO and contracted companies

The successful applicant will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate III trade qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a drill fitter
  • Good time management skills and self-management ability
  • Proven troubleshooting and repair skills for diesel engines and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with electrical and computer controlled systems
  • National Police Clearance and HR licence (preferred)
