Hepatology Clinical Nurse Specialists are critical to the assessment, management, education and monitoring of patients with Hepatitis infection, advanced liver disease and other hepatology disease processes and their complications.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and leadership in Hepatology to nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop and implement best practices for Hepatology care, guide professional development and engage in research activities
  • Formulate and implement plans for the provision of clinical supervision to nursing staff and serve as a role model providing high-quality patient care on a regular basis
Necessary Qualifications:
  • Registered to Practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • A minimum of five years of full-time post-graduate experience, with three years of full-time equivalent in Hepatology
  • An approved post-graduate qualification (at least a Graduate Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of progress toward a Master's level qualification
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical leadership and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills across various mediums
Work Environment:

The service offers an inpatient clinical service for patients and telemedicine advice for referring medical practitioners and healthcare professionals. The Hepatology service has developed an integrated framework with other stakeholders, including primary health networks, population health, and primary community health.
