Job Title: Defence Satellite Sustainment Manager

Description:

This role requires a strategic leader who oversees the successful delivery of a multi-year satellite sustainment contract within the Defence environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding long-term planning and capability evolution to maintain operational readiness and resilience. They will establish governance structures and ensure program integrity across deliverables and contractual obligations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive program plan that aligns with Defence capability requirements and standards.
    • Establish strong relationships with defence agencies, internal stakeholders, and subcontractors to facilitate program reviews and mission alignment.
  • Contract & Compliance Management
    • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and Defence regulatory standards.
    • Lead contract change negotiations and milestone validations.
  • Technical Oversight
    • Manage sustainment activities including operation, maintenance, supply, training, and lifecycle engineering.
    • Supervise engineering change proposals and system verification/validation processes.
  • Risk, Schedule & Financial Management
    • Develop and track integrated master schedules and risk registers using Defence scheduling systems.
    • Oversee program budgets and resource allocations.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience managing Defence programs, preferably in satellite or aerospace sustainment.
  • Proven leadership in complex Commonwealth contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the Defence Capability Lifecycle and relevant standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • NV1 clearance or above.
  • Extensive network of contacts within ADF especially CASG.
