Program Manager, Defence Satellite Sustainment

The role of a program manager is crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of satellite sustainment contracts within defence environments.

This position requires strategic leadership and ensures that all aspects of satellite systems meet defence capability requirements, compliance standards, contractual obligations, and stakeholder expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement multi-year plans to maintain operational readiness and resilience
  • Establish governance structures to ensure program integrity across deliverables and contractual obligations
  • Foster collaboration between defence agencies, internal stakeholders, and subcontractors to facilitate program reviews and mission alignment
  • Maintain adherence to Commonwealth procurement policies, ASDEFCON contract templates, and Defence regulatory standards
  • Oversee sustainment activities including operation, maintenance, supply, training, and lifecycle engineering
  • Develop and manage integrated master schedules (IMS) and risk registers using Defence scheduling systems

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of experience managing defence programs, preferably in satellite or aerospace sustainment
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex, high-value Commonwealth contracts
  • NV1 clearance or above
