Job Summary


The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects. This individual will oversee projects from inception to completion, guaranteeing seamless integration of functionality and aesthetics. With expertise in project planning and program management, they will craft detailed strategies and supervise their implementation, keeping projects on schedule and within budget.



About the Role



  1. Resource Allocation: Effectively manage project resources, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  2. Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, to ensure project success.
  3. Contract Management: Negotiate construction contracts to secure favorable terms, such as cost control, payment schedules, and performance expectations.
  4. Financial Management: Establish and maintain financial control throughout the project lifecycle, including producing financial reports, cash flow projections, and accurate project budgets.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure projects meet or exceed quality standards and specifications while monitoring and managing quality control processes.
  6. Leadership and Team Development: Coach and mentor direct reports, developing their skills and experience, and provide opportunities for hands-on learning and challenges.
  7. Health and Safety Compliance: Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans for construction sites, outlining safety protocols, procedures, and risk assessments.
  8. Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments at various project stages, identifying and documenting potential risks in areas such as legal, safety, financial, and operational aspects.
  9. Client Relationship Management: Establish open and transparent lines of communication with clients, providing regular project updates and addressing client concerns or inquiries.
  10. Industrial Relations Management: Manage labor relations, including employment laws and regulations, handle employment disputes, and maintain positive relationships with unions and workers.
  11. Commercial Acumen: Adhere to project budgets and financial plans, ensuring costs are controlled and expenditures are in line with budgetary constraints.


Requirements



  • Bachelor of Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction project management.
  • Financial Management & Acumen: Sound financial knowledge and ability to manage project finances effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement & Environmental Sustainability: Proficiency in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and promoting environmental sustainability within construction projects.
  • Project Planning & Program Management: Proven ability in planning and executing construction projects, managing programs, and handling complex construction tasks.
