About the Role

SA Water is seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist – Water Science to join our Science and Strategy group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing scientific projects and investigation services to produce fit-for-purpose water, aligning with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement research to enhance water quality, including reuse and recycling opportunities.
  • Develop project scopes, methodologies, timelines, and budgets, and supervise research execution.
  • Consolidate findings and communicate them within SA Water and the broader industry.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior staff, plan and supervise scientific investigations, deliver consultancies to generate revenue, and offer expert advice on water quality and treatment.
  • Elevate SA Water's scientific services and profile through publications and conference presentations.
Requirements
  • Degree in Science, with major in a relevant discipline.
  • Post graduate qualifications – desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to process information using business software and then communicate it effectively graphically, verbally, and in technical reports/publications.
  • Demonstrated skills in the design and implementation of research experiments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively within multi-disciplinary teams and provide scientific project management and supervision.
  • Extensive knowledge of water and water treatment chemistry and processes.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment chemistry and processes – desirable.
