About the Role

Commercial and Finance Controller

This is a key role within our Grid Technologies division, where you will be responsible for managing and performing financial tasks for our business in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a finance business partner to the Technical Lead of Sub-Region Pacific 1, responsible for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Lead and coordinate the management of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, including deviations, corrective measures, and cost reports.
  • Drive process optimization and digitalization in your area of responsibility, fostering continuous improvements to increase cost transparency and accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of legal and commercial conditions of offers and contracts with clients, attend contract negotiations, and maintain relationships with the Sales Team in the region and global functions.
  • Proactive quality management in reporting and ensure strict compliance with corporate guidelines and standards.
  • Lead project financials based on contractual developments and site operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy and local accounting guidelines.
  • Responsible for monthly revenue recognition and contractual invoicing.
  • Prepare monthly financial forecasts and annual project financial plans.
  • Identify, assess, respond, monitor, report, and raise all commercial risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • More than 10 years of working experience.
  • Team-orientation and ability to work with cross-functional, cross-regional teams.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with high interpersonal skills, including negotiation, leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and presentation.
  • Eye for business, sound decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional English required, with additional Asian languages a benefit.
  • Positive attitude to work in a challenging environment and embracing a high-performance culture.
  • Solid knowledge of international trade, accounting, and finance, as well as contract law.
