Diagnostic Imaging Expert - Nuclear Medicine

The role of the Diagnostic Imaging Expert in Nuclear Medicine is to perform complex technical procedures that require independence, skill and initiative. This professional possesses excellent knowledge in nuclear medicine procedures and assumes responsibility for designated areas.

Key Qualifications:

  • A certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist (Nuclear) is required.
  • Membership with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario is mandatory.
  • Nuclear Energy Worker classification is essential.
  • A current CPR certificate is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge and performance of all current nuclear medicine procedures are expected.
  • Independent judgment, skill, ingenuity, and initiative in duties to obtain superior diagnostic images are required.
  • A commitment to participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives/Programs is necessary.
  • High standards in oral and written communication skills and ability to work as a member of an integrated healthcare team are essential.
  • Maintenance/enhancement of professional competence through continuing education activities is demonstrated.
  • General good health and functional ability suitable for position demands are necessary.
  • Proficiency in French language is an asset.

This role must comply with Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital to promote a safe working environment and adhere to Licensing and Radiation Safety guidelines set by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
