With a strong focus on improving quality of life for individuals with respiratory and sleep disorders, IBAS aims to reduce morbidity and mortality through its various programs and initiatives.
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team and contribute to a large externally funded research project. As part of this project, you will be responsible for conducting research in respiratory failure and long-term home ventilatory support. You will work closely with our team to design, implement, and evaluate interventions, with a focus on improving health outcomes for individuals with respiratory failure.
- Hours per week: 16
- 4-year fixed-term position
- Prominent location within Heidelberg, with occasional travel required for development and evaluation of interventions
Key Responsibilities
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, your key responsibilities will include:
- Directing the day-to-day operation of the research project, ensuring it aligns with the protocol and project milestones are met
- Preparing ethics documentation
- Liaising with clinical staff and supervising trial staff
- Contributing to data management, analysis, writing of manuscripts, and presentation at scientific meetings
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Postgraduate qualifications in health sciences, allied health, nursing, or a related field
- Experience in research, including study design, data collection, data coding/analysis, and interpretation
- Sound understanding of respiratory physiology and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to clinical practice
- Demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practice requirements and adherence to ICH-GCP and WHO guidelines
