Role Overview


Job Description

The position of Senior Social Worker presents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within regional communities.

This senior role will be responsible for providing clinical services to patients and their families, utilizing advanced practice skills and working independently with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will also provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff members and students on clinical placement as required.

In addition, the Senior Social Worker will be involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of services, development and leading of quality improvement activities, and research with stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level assessment and therapeutic services in the identified specialty area.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions with consumers in acute hospital settings.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a degree in Social Work and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Candidates should also demonstrate well-developed time management skills, written and verbal communication skills, and IT skills, including the ability to use telehealth as a mode of delivery for clinical care.
