Job Description

We are seeking a senior RF engineer to join our hardware team in the quantum sensing division. This role will support the development of new quantum sensor prototypes and products by designing custom microwave/RF electronics and antenna systems.

The successful candidate will contribute to deploying software-ruggedised quantum gravimeters, accelerometers, and magnetometers. They will be part of an established and growing team focused on quantum sensing for various industry sectors such as aerospace, defence, geophysical exploration, and earth observation.

This position requires strong technical skills and experience in developing custom RF & microwave electronics for quantum sensor prototypes and eventual productisation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing miniaturised RF electronics subsystems based on demonstrated bench-top prototypes, modelling and simulating microwave/RF signal transmission, and designing, optimising, and fabricating custom antennas for near-field operation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's, master's or PhD in physics, engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated track-record of developing circuit boards operating at RF/microwave frequencies
  • R&D experience working concurrently with scientists and engineers
  • Relevant CAD software/design experience is desirable but not essential
  • Experience modelling microwave transmission using CST studio or similar is desirable
  • Experience taking designs from prototype to production, including design for manufacture and product certification for global markets
