About the Program
Maintaining strong social connections is vital for overall health, particularly as we age. The Australian Red Cross offers various aged and community care initiatives aimed at supporting individuals as they grow older. Volunteers play a crucial role in providing transportation, companionship, meals, and welfare checks, enabling clients to enhance their engagement in community life, preserve or regain independence, and remain in their homes longer.

Role Overview
In this position, you will engage with fellow volunteers and community members during both in-person and online events, interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and cultures. You will facilitate the exchange of information between Red Cross and our volunteers to amplify their impact within the community.

All volunteers are required to undergo a National Criminal Check. The Australian Red Cross will provide necessary training, continuous support, and access to additional opportunities within the largest humanitarian network globally.

Your Contribution
As a Community Engagement Volunteer, you will assist volunteers and communities in supporting vulnerable individuals, enhancing their social connections and quality of life through a respectful and positive service. In return, you will have the chance to meet a variety of people and experience the fulfillment that comes from contributing to your community.

You will be part of the Aged & Community Care team, dedicated to assisting older and vulnerable individuals across Australia through a range of volunteer-driven programs.

Application Process
For this role, candidates must complete a National Police Check, organized through the Australian Red Cross. Depending on your State/Territory, you may also need to hold or apply for a Working With Vulnerable People Check, for which Red Cross can provide assistance.

A current Australian Driver's License is advantageous but not mandatory.
