Drilling and Blasting Team Lead

This role offers a unique opportunity to take on a leadership position in an open cut mining environment. We are seeking a skilled individual with the ability to effectively manage a team of drillers and blasters to achieve production targets.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of fostering a safe work environment.

In this challenging role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of drillers and blasters, communicating drill and blast requirements, ensuring employee understanding and compliance with health and safety procedures, and providing technical advice and training as needed.

You will also be expected to monitor shift performance, report significant deviations from drilling and blasting plans, and contribute to maintaining a high level of performance within the team.

About You/Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted shotfirers ticket is mandatory for this position.
  • A demonstrated track record of promoting safety in the workplace.
  • Proven experience as a Drilling and Blasting Team Lead, driving performance outcomes through effective team management.
  • Extensive experience in open pit mining within a Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium or Iron ore background is highly regarded.
