About the Role:

Visy's Operational Excellence division is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health Safety Environment Manager (HSE) to join their team. The HSE professional will play a key role in developing and driving the safety and health culture across our Melbourne and broader VIC sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the site's safety and health culture.
  • Provide expertise in the management of business risk.
  • Engage and coach managers, supervisors, and employees to foster a high-performance HSE culture.
  • Implement and maintain HSE initiatives, codes of practice, policies, and risk management strategies.
  • Influence the HSE change management process.
  • Work closely with key personnel to ensure the HSE approach is sustainable and aligned with the organisation's HSE strategy.
  • Coordinate the implementation of all aspects of the HSE management systems.
  • Facilitate cultural change and increase line managers' capabilities to drive HSE performance.
  • Ensure and maintain appropriate relationships with stakeholders regarding site HSE requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WH&S)
  • Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing HSE role.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE management systems and risk management strategies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong stakeholder management, excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive cultural change.
