Cloud Platform Lead Position

The Role:

As a cloud platform lead, you will inspire and motivate a team of skilled engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions.

You'll cultivate a dynamic culture of trust and collaboration, empowering your team with autonomy while providing essential guidance.

This role requires navigating evolving requirements and partnering with technical leads to drive capability uplift and high-impact cloud service delivery, ultimately enabling our development teams.

Your New Team

Our innovative cloud platform team is seeking a talented leader to join their ranks.

Reporting directly to the head of cloud services, you'll lead a high-performing team of 4-7 engineers in a fast-growing company that values high performance with high integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing cloud platform team, fostering autonomy, ownership, and continuous learning.
  • Cultivate an inclusive team culture, championing continuous improvement and modern engineering practices (infrastructure as code, CI/CD).
  • Drive the strategy, design, and delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions.
  • Partner with business units to provide strategic direction for cloud evolution, migration, and modernisation.
  • Optimise cloud resource utilisation, focusing on cost efficiency, performance, and value delivery.
  • Embed robust security, governance, and compliance into all cloud platforms and processes.
  • Accelerate project delivery by proactively removing blockers, prioritising backlogs, and ensuring clear execution.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for cloud architecture, security, cost optimisation, and modern delivery practices.
  • Lead incident resolution and drive root cause analysis for technical issues, ensuring timely remediation.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience or at least 2 years in a team leader role within a similar environment.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience with technical teams, fostering growth and development.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts and business impacts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • A strong background in creating, documenting, implementing, and continuously improving operational policies and processes.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in cloud, security, or core infrastructure are highly regarded.
  • Experience working within agile project management frameworks.
