Working as a livestock-focused farm hand on a 5,000-hectare Tasmanian farm offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic family-owned operation that is enthusiastic about innovation and industry best practices.

About The Role

This position involves involvement in all aspects of animal husbandry, including sheep and cattle management, as well as farm and machinery maintenance.

During peak seasons, assistance will be required with cropping operations and mustering on bikes or SBS with dogs.

A high level of competence in fencing and general farm maintenance is necessary, although contractors are engaged for most new infrastructure projects.

About The Offer

This role presents the opportunity to work in a beautiful location within an hour of Hobart and close to several regional centres.

As a farm hand, access will be granted to all amenities, including schools and medical services.

Key requirements for this position include experience in sheep and cattle management, fencing skills, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with farm machinery operation.

Desirable skills include experience with working dogs, basic welding skills, willingness to learn, strong communication skills, and ability to work both in a team and autonomously.

Advantageous skillsets include knowledge of AgriWebb, Chemcert, Front End Loader ticket, completion of Lifetime Ewe Management course, motorbike licence, and First Aid ticket.
