Transport Refrigeration Technician

We are seeking an experienced transport refrigeration professional to fill a key role in our team.

This is a full-time hybrid position that includes being on a roster for emergency after-hours duties, with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.

You will be equipped with a company-supplied late-model service vehicle, all industry-required speciality tools and spare parts.

The successful candidate will have skills in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintenance and repair of transport refrigeration systems, as well as experience working with transport refrigeration systems.

The ideal candidate will also possess excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical instructions.

A car license is essential, and relevant certifications such as a refrigerant handling license and cert III in refrigeration/air conditioning or equivalent are highly regarded.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish job requirements from drawings and specifications, and lay out installation reference points.
  • Drill holes, install mounting brackets, cut, bend, and thread piping.
  • Install and repair components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, and gauges.
  • Bolt, solder, rivet, weld, and braze pipes to connect equipment, and check alignment and accuracy of fit.
  • Filling systems with gas or fluid to check for leaks.
  • Test-operating refrigeration systems, checking mechanisms, and making adjustments.
  • Removing test gas and fluid using vacuum pumps, and filling with refrigerant.
  • Checking and overhauling refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults, and repairing and replacing defective components.
  • Adjusting system controls and mechanisms, and reassembling systems.

Requirements:

  • Skills in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintenance and repair of transport refrigeration systems.
  • Experience in working with transport refrigeration systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Working within a team environment is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Car license is essential.
  • Relevant certifications such as a refrigerant handling license and cert III in refrigeration/air conditioning or equivalent.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Schedule: 8 hour shift

Supplementary Pay: Overtime pay

Work Authorisation: Australia (required)
