The Family Partnership Worker is a vital position within the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation's Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program (ANFPP) visiting team.
This role supports the visiting team by providing education, promotional activities, and cultural guidance to ensure home visits are culturally sensitive and effective.
The ANFPP team consists of specially trained professionals, including Nurse Home Visitors, Family Partnership Workers, Social Workers, and Nurse Supervisors, who visit women and their families to support a healthy pregnancy and confident parenting.
The program is relationship-based and strengths-focused, allowing for the development of warm, consistent, and caring therapeutic relationships with women.
Key Responsibilities- Support clients to achieve their goals and ensure home visits are culturally sensitive
- Provide education and promotional activities to promote healthy pregnancy and parenting practices
- Collaborate with the visiting team to ensure effective program delivery
- Develop and maintain relationships with women and their families to build trust and confidence
- Identifies as an Aboriginal person and is recognised and accepted as such by the Aboriginal community
- Excellent communication skills, including fluency in one or more local Aboriginal languages, and the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment
- Qualifications in a relevant field or the willingness to obtain; or a minimum of 1 year experience in a relevant field (e.g. maternal and child health, early childhood, family and community services, counselling) of working with Aboriginal women, children, and families
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build relationship networks and establish trust with the community
- Current Driver's Licence
