Cyber Security Operations Senior Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver cyber security operations services including security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management capabilities to ensure the University's information assets are adequately protected.
  • Support the response to cyber security incidents and the investigation of security breaches, directing stakeholders on containment, eradication and remediation actions as necessary.
  • Provide strategic and/or operational information security advice to clients and ICT stakeholders to mitigate emerging threats and risks.
  • Maintain awareness of the University's internal and external environment for emerging threats and provide recommendations for proactive measures.
  • Assess the vulnerability status of the University's ICT environments in coordination with managed security service providers, validating the scope and priority of remediation requirements.
  • Coordinate the delivery of security assessment services to ICT and University-wide stakeholders using accredited third-party assessors.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in cyber security operations focused on incident management in complex ICT environments.
  • GCIH / GPEN / GCFA or equivalent cyber security certifications.
  • Ability to identify and recommend solutions to information security issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Expert knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Ability to advise leadership on information security matters and work effectively within a team in a complex organisational structure and ICT environment.
  • Strong project, analysis, problem-solving, and business relationship skills.
