Senior Cyber Security Analyst - Incident Response and Vulnerability Management

Cyber security is a critical component of our University's operations strategy and delivery. This role plays a key part in ensuring that our information assets are adequately protected and cyber security incidents are identified and responded to effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver cyber security services including security monitoring, detection, incident response, and vulnerability management capabilities.
  • Contribute to the response to cyber security incidents and investigate security breaches, directing stakeholders on containment, eradication, and remediation actions.
  • Provide strategic and operational information security advice to clients and ICT stakeholders.
  • Maintain an awareness of internal and external emerging threats, providing advice as necessary.
  • Assess the vulnerability status of ICT environments in coordination with managed security service providers, validating scope and priority of remediation requirements.
  • Coordinate security assessment services for ICT and University-wide stakeholders using accredited third-party assessors.
  • Administer cyber security controls within operational responsibility of ICT Cyber Security.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in cyber security operations focused on incident management in complex ICT environments.
  • GCIH/GPEN/GCFA or equivalent cyber security certifications.
  • Ability to independently identify and recommend solutions to information security issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Expert knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Ability to assist leadership in information security advice and work as part of a team in a complex organisational structure and ICT environment.
