Production Operations Supervisor

The Production Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in bridging strategy and day-to-day execution on the production floor. This position is responsible for leading frontline teams to achieve operational goals while contributing to the factory's broader strategic objectives.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Support the implementation of the factory's strategic goals by translating them into clear daily priorities and operational plans.
- Identify improvement opportunities in line with site objectives and escalate insights to management for broader decision-making.
- Contribute to resource planning discussions to ensure alignment with production targets and long-term demand forecasts.
Operational Delivery:
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure output, quality, labor efficiency, and delivery KPIs are met.
- Deliver effective maintenance and monitoring of production KPIs: safety, quality, operational equipment effectiveness (Safety, Delivery, Quality, Efficiency).
- Develop and oversee all workforce and operational scheduling (e.g., training and management communication sessions) to ensure effective delivery of KPIs and adherence to procedures and standards.
- Utilize data dashboards and reports to monitor team performance and drive timely corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records for time, attendance, materials, and production progress.
- Maintain a strong presence on the shopfloor and stay closely connected to daily operations.
Safety & Compliance:
- Champion a safety-first culture and ensure team compliance with OH&S policies.
- Conduct routine safety briefings and audits; report and investigate incidents promptly.
- Compliance to policies, DHR requirements, regulatory procedures and work instructions.
People Management:
- Lead by example and take full ownership of team performance, behaviors, and engagement.
- Coach and develop Team Leaders and Operators, supporting capability building and succession planning.
- Provide feedback through regular performance conversations and support team members' career progression.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
- Guide and facilitate the Production Team Leaders to oversee the management of personnel issues for all shifts including:
- Proficient management of time and attendance system.
- Induction and assessment of new applicants.
- Training, mentoring, maintenance of workplace training systems.
- Staff assessment and performance management.
- Leave and injury management, and coordination of suitable duties.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead and sustain Lean initiatives such as 6S, visual management, and waste reduction.
- Support problem-solving and root cause analysis to resolve quality and productivity issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in processes and systems.
- Perform other duties assigned as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience within an innovative, high-volume manufacturing team.
- Proven ability to lead frontline teams and meet operational KPIs.
- Solid knowledge and experience working with LEAN, GMP, Quality and OH&S processes.
- Solid computer skills, specifically MS Excel and MS Word, Oracle, and Objective.
