About Our Client
Our client is Australia's leading commercial producer of early generation potato mini tubers, combining tissue culture, protected cropping, and rigorous biosecurity to supply high-health seed nationwide. Privately owned and governed via a professional board structure, they play a critical role in the long-term sustainability of the potato industry.
About the role
Our client, Australia's leading producer of early generation potato mini tubers, is seeking a hands-on and capable Production Operations Supervisor to join their Waikerie facility. This pivotal role is the Second-in-Command (2IC) to the General Manager, with a structured succession pathway into the GM role.
Main Responsibilities
You'll oversee the protected cropping nursery and production facility, managing :
- Production cycles from propagation through to dispatch.
- A small dedicated team (3–4 staff).
- Pest & disease management, irrigation, fertigation, and automation systems.
- Quality, compliance, and biosecurity standards under the National Seed Potato Certification scheme.
- Operational administration, budgets, purchasing, and inventory.
- Customer liaison, grower support, and industry engagement.
