About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services Team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading electrical design and project delivery for our major clients, including technical review of projects and effective communication with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design and project delivery for major clients, including technical review of projects and effective communication with clients.
  • Provide high-quality design services across lighting, general and specialist power, earthing/lightning protection, and power distribution & reticulation across various projects in a range of market sectors.
  • Work effectively within a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, using technical knowledge to drive quality through reviewing designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
  • Assist with bids and tenders as required, while developing future business with ongoing and new clientele.
  • Provide leadership and mentor junior engineers within the broader AECOM business, while liaising with engineers across various disciplines on a variety of projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree with RPEV and CPEng (or working towards), ideally with 10+ years of experience working for a Building Services Consultancy or have significant design experience working for a contractor.
  • Demonstrated project experience working to Australian Standards with exposure to State and/or Federal Government Projects.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software (MS Office, AutoCAD, PowerCAD, AGI31, Blue Beam) ideally with prior experience with Revit (highly desirable).
  • Extensive, relevant experience delivering and leading Building Services projects in a client-facing role as a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
