Financial Systems Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our suite of financial management information systems (FMIS). This includes costing and budget models, with a focus on delivering detailed financial analysis and supporting the university's planning cycles.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of medium to large-scale FMIS, with experience in system improvements, end-user support, and ensuring financial tools meet both strategic and compliance needs. They will lead system enhancements, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive smarter resource decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance our suite of FMIS, including costing and budget models
  • Deliver detailed financial analysis and support the university's planning cycles
  • Lead system enhancements and ensure financial tools meet strategic and compliance needs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the institution to drive smarter resource decisions

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and enhancing medium to large-scale FMIS
  • Proven ability to investigate financial issues, assess risks, and provide evidence-based recommendations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and collaborate across teams
