The Town of Port Hedland has an exciting opportunity to strengthen the community's preparedness and resilience through the development of emergency management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of state emergency response arrangements, experience in emergency and recovery management, and high-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement emergency management strategies to mitigate bushfires and cyclones.
- Design and deliver critical activities to enhance community preparedness and resilience.
- Coordinate exercises to test local emergency management arrangements and business continuity plans.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Emergency Management or equivalent.
- Experience in an emergency-related field, preferably with Fire Control Officer qualifications or demonstrated experience in bushfire prevention and control.
- National Police Clearance and current 'C' class driver's license.
- Rights to work in Australia and employee benefits including annual leave, superannuation, relocation assistance, housing and utilities assistance, wellness program, and salary packaging scheme.
