Job Title: Assistant Director Sustainable Property

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking an Assistant Director to support the Director in achieving the branch's sustainability ambitions. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and lead innovative solutions to sustainability challenges associated with the property portfolio.

The role involves providing high-quality advice on sustainability topics to the branch, engaging and influencing stakeholders as appropriate. Additionally, the Assistant Director will oversee core sustainability performance reporting and develop the capability of the branch to measure, monitor and report on its use of property-related resources.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainability and property management, with experience in building and maintaining professional relationships to ensure effective delivery of transformational change. They will also be able to identify, research and support the adoption of opportunities to innovate and embed sustainability in the delivery of property management services.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a geographically dispersed team and enjoy flexible working arrangements. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and lead innovative solutions to sustainability challenges associated with the property portfolio
  • Provide high-quality advice on sustainability topics to the branch, engaging and influencing stakeholders as appropriate
  • Oversee core sustainability performance reporting and develop the capability of the branch to measure, monitor and report on its use of property-related resources
  • Ensure delivery of the division's contribution to corporate sustainability and climate risk reporting
